On September 25, the Regional Summit of the Americas was held in Washington DC. The event brought together more than 70 political representatives from Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Guatemala, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Lucia, Spain, Hungary, Kenya and the United States.
The session took place in the Capitol of the United States and was closed at the headquarters of the Organization of American States (OAS). In addition to the plenary session, three working groups were held, in which experts from the academic and civil field participated, together with the legislators, with the aim of working together in three specific areas: Human dignity and the value of life and of motherhood; the redefinition of marriage and the family as a challenge to fundamental freedoms; and the protection of fundamental freedoms, in particular conscientious objection in the context of education.
