The Political Network for Values categorically condemns the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation and calls for the cease of all military operations immediately. The aggression ordered by the Russian government constitutes a serious violation on the norms of international law, the territorial integrity of the country and the sovereignty of the Ukrainian people.
We are aware that there is a conflict between the two countries that has dragged on for decades, but any dispute of interests must be resolved, in the first instance, peacefully through dialogue and negotiations.
We feel united and in solidarity with all the families who suffer from the conflict, who have suffered the loss of their loved ones, who have been divided and displaced, who have lost everything. We also admire the courage and patriotic love with which the Ukrainian people are defending their freedom.
We regret the attitude that most international and multilateral organizations have assumed. Ukraine is being insufficiently supported by those who had the duty to assist.
This situation highlights the deep moral and cultural crisis in which the West is immersed, whose political leaders have turned their backs on the values that gave rise to it. One of the profound consequences of this systematic extermination of Western values is the inability of our weak institutions and leaders to promptly face moments of crisis.
Finally, we would like to express all our support for the members of our Network in Ukraine, politicians who, on the front line, together with the people they represent, are currently defending Kyiv, a spiritual capital of Eastern Europe. We call on all our members to do everything in their power, through the political roles that each of you perform, to contribute to the reestablishment of peace.
